   yes. because it kills all bacteria in your body, even the good bacteria that usually keeps things like yeast at bay. so the yeast over colonizes causing a yeast infection.

   the use of broad spectrum antibiotics, especially over and over again, can lead to a candida infection, yes.

   Yes, antibiotic use of any type can cause a yeast (Candida) infection. It is a common side effect when you take antibiotics but can be treated with medication such as Diflucan. Any time I need an antibiotic (broad spectrum or otherwise) I always ask for a Diflucan prescription along with it.

   The use of a broad-spectrum antibiotic, as opposed to a narrow-spectrum drug, predisposes one to Candidiasis somewhat more than a narrow-spectrum antibiotic but any antibiotic can do this. Frequent use and long-term use are the bigger factors.
