Are your blood sugars elevated at the moment? That could be one reason for the persistent thrush.
I had persistent thrush in the time before I was diagnosed, when my blood sugars were very high.
Rinse your mouth. If you have to use a corticosteroid inhaler, be sure to rinse your mouth with water or brush your teeth after taking your medication.
Try using fresh-culture yogurt containing Lactobacillus acidophilus or bifidobacterium or take acidophilus capsules when you take antibiotics. Diflucan and Nazopril are antibiotics often used. Antibiotics often kill good bacteria allowing thrush to flourish and it becomes a chronic problem.
Treat any vaginal yeast infections this is a problem that affects your whole body and is usually a problem in diabetics with thrush.
Ask your dentist how often you need to be seen. Brush and floss your teeth as often as your dentist recommends. If you wear dentures, be sure to clean them every night.
Watch what you eat. Try limiting the amount of sugar and yeast-containing foods you eat. These may encourage the growth of candida.
High sugar levels cause increased salivation that increases the level of bacteria and susceptibility of thrush. Drinking alot of water is very helpful in flushing out your system.
Thrush is usually a good indicator that your sugar levels are not being maintained and meds or diet need to be changed or added and it usually means your immune system is being compromised. Check with your doctor on any medical advice given.
Hope this helps.
